DaimlerChrysler GP&S SEA certified to ISO 9001:2000
DaimlerChrysler GP&S SEA was recently certified for ISO 9001:2000 by TÜV Süddeutschland Thailand and the Award presentation was held at DaimlerChrysler, Singapore on 2 nd March 2007. This ISO 9001:2000 Apex certification covers the Head office at Singapore and all its six country offices such as, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and India (GP&S SEA office at Pune and Bangalore). The certificate was presented to Mr. Alfred Knecht, General Manager, DCGP&S SEA and Mr. Bandi Murlidhar, Management Representative by Mr. Wu Tek Ming, CEO of TÜV SÜD PSB Certification Pte. Ltd.
DCGP&S SEA has thus become the first GP&S regional office to have ISO 9001:2000 apex certification covering all its country offices.
With the implementation of ISO 9001:2000, GP&S SEA has streamlined the operating procedures for all the GP&S offices in SEA region through a common Quality Manual Handbook including Global procurement activities, Local content and NPM activities as per new management guidelines. This Quality Management System forms the basis to implement SOA (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) in the SEA region for GP&S SEA. It also acts as an effective tool in enhancing customer satisfaction, i.e. satisfaction of all the business units (MCG/CG/PTG/IPS) and DC CKD plants in South East Asia.
